This is the third and final post in a series about Arketi’s participation in Make A Difference Day 2012.
On Friday, Oct. 26, Arketi employees split into three teams and were given the day off to make a difference in the community. Each team received $500 to donate to a charitable organization of their choice. One team partnered with 11Alive to share a random act of kindness with teachers at Chesney Elementary. Another team partnered with Project Open Hand to deliver meals to immobile seniors and individuals with serious or chronic illnesses.
The third team, led by Rory Carlton, included Charles Askew, Kerri Moran and Jackie Parker. For their project, the team made a donation to Action Ministries that included women and children’s clothing as well as much needed baby diapers and wipes. Additionally, the team volunteered their time at a non-profit organization called, MedShare, which delivers surplus medical supplies and equipment to hospitals in 85 nations.
