If you could teach a college class, what would it be? If I could teach a college class, it would be called “Get out of your bubble” and it would cover how to gather information on all sides of an argument or issue and make up your own mind.
What is the best business advice you’ve ever received? “Analyze but don’t over-analyze. Make a decision, then make it a good decision by putting all of your efforts behind it.”
What is your favorite place in the world to visit? My favorite place in the world to visit is: Barcelona, Spain. Barcelona absolutely has it all – great beaches, incredible food, beautiful streets, the Olympic stadium and venues, Miro, and Gaudi. My favorite spot in the city is easily the Parc Guell, a park at the highest point of Barcelona designed by Gaudi. It’s not to be missed – like walking into a Dr. Seuss book with awesome views of the city.

What is your secret vice? A great bottle of cabernet sauvignon.
What are you currently reading? Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell (again)
If you weren’t in this profession, what would you be? If I wasn’t in this profession, I’d be: A professor, primarily based on the pleasure I derive from mentoring members of my team. I’ve done some things well and made my fair share of mistakes, both of which can help someone else to excel in his or her career. Not to mention the fact that I learn as much from the people on my team as they do from me – what a great way for me to keep current as well!
The smartest marketing, communications or PR thing I’ve ever done is: Hire people that are smarter than I am. Marketing is multi-faceted – the skillsets required to be an expert at lead generation are different than those of product marketing….which is different than communications….which is different than brand….which is different than content creation….which is different than marketing operations. The list goes on and on. Hiring experts for the most important functions in your organization is vital, especially as a marketing operation builds scale.
