The end of the year is a time for reflection, gratitude and celebration. In the best holiday tradition, we’ve compiled a calendar of moments, musings and meditations from every member of the Arketi team.
Check back daily, through the end of the year, as each of us opens a window to say “happy holidays” in our own words!
Wherever you are, and however you celebrate, all of us at Arketi Group wish you and yours the warmest of holidays and good things in the year to come.
Are you the type of person to open presents early? Alright then, open everything!
A family recipe from the turn of the 20th century. An amazing holiday cookie that can be made in small batches or large. When you roll out the cookies, thin makes really crispy and crunchy cookies where thicker makes them more cakelike.
They are the perfect canvas to decorate for the holidays.
In our house, the holidays include the furriest member of the family. This is our rescue pup Bennie – yes, from the song – and he’s pictured rocking his Christmas morning pajamas ready to open presents.
The day is usually fairly low key just like he likes it, with snuggles on the couch, holiday movies on in the background and some sort of festive breakfast (though he sticks to treats and kibble).
Bennie asks that you keep fingers crossed he’s on the nice list again this year. Happy Paw-lidays to all!
Happy holidays!
I hope you spend the season surrounded by loved ones, sharing your favorite holiday meals, watching the classics and partaking in holiday traditions.
If your family is like mine, the season will include a fiercely competitive game of Phase 10 – or two!
What would the holidays be without an ugly Christmas sweater?!
From our tree to yours, wishing you a holiday of peace, love and happiness!
What holiday photo would be complete without dogs dressed as Santa and a reindeer?
Happy holidays, Merry Christmas and have a Joyous New Year!
When the holidays roll around, only one thing can truly put me in the Christmas mindset, and that’s music! Whether you are rockin’ around the Christmas tree or decking the halls, this hand-curated playlist will keep you in the spirit with all the great classic Christmas tunes.

My favorite holiday dish is a Sweet Potato Casserole with Marshmallow and Cinnamon, hands down. And each year, I like to try to try a new recipe with slightly different ingredients.
Here’s a recipe that’s caught my eye already for this year. It has all the normal sweet ingredients, but the additions of cayenne and paprika will add an interesting kick!
I love cooking for the holidays and I get great recipe inspiration from
What’s Gaby Cooking.
Her ultimate guide to Christmas side dishes are a lifesaver.
My family has a special ornament that is hung on the tree once the lights have been weaved and the garland has been hung. I wanted to carry this tradition on when I moved to my apartment with my roommate. Around Christmas time we took a polaroid in front of our Christmas tree, and I decided to have a friend paint that image on an ornament. I gifted one ornament to my roommate and kept another for myself. It is now a tradition we hang these two ornaments on the tree first. Wishing you a very Merry Christmas from my apartment family!
Growing up in the Midwest, I had my share of white Christmases. While I still love the movie, I now prefer a little more sunshine and sand in holiday season. Favorite Christmas spot so far: Tulum, Mexico, but, I’m open to recommendations.
I wanted to share a list of holiday films that are a little beyond the normal It’s a Wonderful Life, Christmas Story and Christmas Vacation.
These may not be as popular as those traditionals but they always get at least one showing in the Long household. All are available through Amazon Prime:
Get your popcorn ready and have a wonderful, safe and fun holiday with family and friends!
Who doesn’t love a sweet treat for the holidays?
These soft and chewy white chocolate cranberry cookies will satiate your sweet tooth and have your family and friends wanting more!
Not the most flattering shot, to be sure, but a fun memory from last year’s white Christmas: Barny the whippet and me in our own winter wonderland.
May your holidays be filled with wonderful memories-to-be!
Just like the holiday spirit – laughter can also be quite contagious! Every year when Christmas rolls around, I always think of the music. Usually those thoughts consist of “When is this ever going to end?” or, “Will people ever get tired of this Mariah Carey song?” (Answer: They won’t.) But at least once a year, those thoughts drift to a lesser-known parody that almost had my Dad and I driving off the road with laughter the first time we heard it. It never fails to make me laugh, smile, and look forward to the happy time spent with family around the holidays. Without further ado, I gift you Seymour Swine’s (voiced by Denny Brownlee) rendition of the Elvis Christmas classic, “Blue Christmas”.
Happy Holidays!
The holiday season is my favorite time to spread cheer – whether that means covering my desk in Christmas décor or watching my favorite Christmas movie, Love Actually 30 times over the break, it’s the best time of the year!
It’s a requirement that every great television show MUST do a Christmas episode. Sorry, I don’t make the rules. The thoughtful writers at Good Housekeeping have helpfully compiled a list of the top Christmas episodes, from classic sitcoms to a tear-jerking (but is there really any other type?) episode of This is Us. If you want to get in the Christmas spirit but have already binged the traditional animated classics, give these episodes a watch. Personally, I’d recommend watching every Christmas episode of The Office. One just isn’t enough.
Thank you for making 2021 a success for all of us at Arketi Group
We're looking forward to another great year with you in 2022. Happy New Year!
