As 2010 was coming to a close, Arketi Group hosted its fourth annual Atlanta High-Tech CMO Roundtable. More than 30 marketing and public relations executives from leading technology companies gathered to discuss the current and future state of marketing and PR in the business-to-business (BtoB) technology sector.
Most executives in the group were much more optimistic about the 2011 business environment that was the case in the previous year, and some were even bold in their predictions. One stated, “we’re going to go in aggressively,” while another remarked, “we need to plan on growth… [after being] flat for three years.”
In agreement with that mindset, the majority of Roundtable attendees said that marketing budgets, while not making monumental leaps, are alive and larger than they were in 2010. “We know we have to put money behind marketing,” said one.
